How does this work?

We know no two classroom are alike, and every teacher has his or her own unique style of teaching. Every student is also unique with different interests and talents. That’s why we keep the format completely open so educators may blend each theme with lessons plans. Students may work on articles, research papers, projects, videos and/or artworks. There is no maximum or minimum length.

Educators, when you are ready, you may send word files and/or jpeg attachments via email
Add the following deadlines to your calendar:

The only requirement is that the students provide creditable sources. CLICK HERE to learn more about our #FactsFirst movement. CLICK HERE to learn about the research requirement.

At this time, writing, projects, videos and artwork are accepted from 3rd-8th grade students in South Florida. We plan to add more grades and locations in the future. Contact Us if you are in another location so we may consider your county in the future.

Parents, friends and family members of 3rd-8th graders may pass our website on to your children’s teachers.

Student Writing is Published our Website
Educators may select a few students or submit work from everyone in class. The online publication may also be used as a incentive to help with classroom management. The teacher who submits the student’s work is considered the Editor.

Every submission that has at least 3 credible sources will be published online. Only the student’s first name and last initial are used to protect the privacy of the child. CLICK HERE for more information about our privacy regulations on our FAQ page.

Selected Students and Professional in STEM Fields Contribute to a FREE Monthly Academic Magazine
A few STEAM City Kids will be selected each month to be featured in our environmentally themed digital magazine. We are looking for submissions that are creative, innovation and well written from students who are passionate about their topic. Their writing will be along side a few articles from professionals in STEM fields. This magazine will always remain free for our teachers! It’s a resource they may use in the classroom to promote literally. We think students will be excited to read information from other students. It will also be a great classroom tool for looking up ideas for STEAM based projects and writing prompts.
